Scotland Network: A wee news update

Scotland Network: A wee news update

Scottish saltire in the clouds

Keith Tanner and Bob Craig, organisers of the Scottish Network, write:

Thanks to everyone who’s had the time to get involved in our Scottish Network. We’ve met five times now and each session has brought something new to the discussion. Attendees have come from the Highlands, the Lowlands and England!

We’ve dived deeply into a range of topics including Black Lives Matter, creativity, neuroscience, supervision, disclosure, wellbeing, unconscious biases, social justice and the connectedness of everything.

New times, same place, ZOOM!

From April we are changing our meeting times to 5.30-7.00pm on the last Tuesday of every month, and we’re staying Zoom based.

We are also widening our invite to anyone interested in a shared development space where we can openly discuss themed topics, share insight and consider the value of our collaborative approach to the practical work we do in coaching, mentoring and supervision.

Coming up

Over the next few months, as we come out of lockdowns, we are focusing on the challenges and opportunities opening up to us.

The power of story (27 April) – Gavin Cargill of Value the Person joins us to share his story, and talk about how thoughts, feelings and actions can be a rich resource for telling, retelling and imagining personal growth. Gavin has developed a unique approach over many years, and his work produces profound personal, professional and organisational development that is deeply human, as well as being serious fun. Register for the April event here

Therapy matters (25 May) – May’s topic will focus on the use of therapeutic tools and techniques and how they can add to, or detract from, the impact of coaching orientated personal, professional and organisational development. We will invite a therapist to speak about.

Shadow play (29 June) – June’s programme will discuss the current fascination many have with ‘shadow work’. We will consider its value across a range of coaching, mentoring and supervision scenarios, and look at tools, techniques and alternatives that might help in safely bringing more of the unconscious into the work we do for ourselves, each other and our clients.
