Introducing new EMCC UK resources on diversity and inclusion

Hande Yaşargil, EMCC UK Director of Diversity and Inclusion, introduces new resources to enable our members to expand their understanding of diversity and inclusion, and to enable them to effectively coach individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds.

At EMCC UK, we understand the importance of having an inclusive community that values and celebrates diversity in all its forms. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the launch of some new initiatives focused on diversity and inclusion.

Creating an inclusive community is crucial for any membership organization, but especially for one focused on coaching, mentoring and supervision. Our practice is about helping and supporting individuals and teams, and this requires a deep understanding of the unique needs, experiences, and perspectives of each person, while offering unconditional respect.

Coaches and mentors continuously need to develop themselves to broaden their understanding of different cultures, identities, and ways of thinking to be able to create a safe space where clients and mentees feel empowered to share their unique perspectives and experiences.

It is crucial that all EMCC members feel a strong sense of belonging within the organisation, and this includes feeling empowered to contribute to shaping the future of coaching and mentoring practice.

To this end, we are opening a new resource hub for EMCC UK members who are seeking to expand their knowledge on diversity and inclusion. The new hub has a curated collection of books, articles, videos, podcasts, and other materials that cover a wide range of topics. These include ethnic diversity, gender identity and expression, disability inclusion, and cultural competence. Find the new resources here:

We also recently launched a new Special Interest Group on diversity and inclusion which will host a series of inspirational activities for EMCC members, including meetings, discussions, and seminars.

Our goal is to provide members with the tools and resources they need to effectively coach individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds. We believe that by enhancing our understanding of diverse perspectives and experiences, we can create a more inclusive coaching practice that promotes growth and development for all.

We encourage you to explore the new hub and take advantage of the resources available. We also welcome suggestions for additional materials that you believe would be valuable to share with our community.
