The Second Annual EMCC UK in Higher Education Conference

The Second Annual EMCC in HE Conference

Achieving Excellence

Inspirational Coaching and Mentoring in Universities

Conversations, Connections, Commitments

• How coaching and mentoring inspires excellence in university staff and students
• How to develop and deliver excellent coaching and mentoring offerings in universities
• How to bring about and nurture a culture of engagement, support and co-creation in which people focus on solutions rather      than problems and ‘how to’ rather than ‘why we can not’
• How universities are benefiting from innovative examples of coaching and mentoring good practice

Our second annual conference builds on the hugely successful inaugural HE conference last year. The conference focuses  on challenges facing university staff and students, from employability to diversity and digital technology.

You will have the opportunity to explore how to:

• improve individual, team and organisational performance through coaching and mentoring; and
• apply these approaches in your own environment.

Jonathan Winter
, Head of Learning and Development at The University of Manchester will deliver our opening keynote that will include a specially recorded discussion for our conference with Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice Chancellor at The University of Manchester in which she shares her unique professional and personal insights on coaching and mentoring in HE. Other speakers and facilitators will include senior leaders and experts from the world of coaching, mentoring and higher education, Professor Bob Garvey, academic, prolific author, thought leader and practitioner, Dr Paul Stokes, Director of Coaching & Mentoring, Sheffield Business School, and renowned mentoring expert Lis Merrick, past president and current governor, EMCC UK.

The conference will provide a day full of interest and value to those who are keen to develop their coaching and mentoring practice in higher education and those who want to better understand what coaching and mentoring is and the power of its potential.

We will be running 3 parallel Learning Labs in the afternoon and you will be asked to confirm which one you would like to attend at the time of booking. You will also be asked to select an alternative option  if your chosen Learning Lab is full. Details of the Learning Labs are given below:-

Learning Lab 1 - Can We Use Coaching Conversations to Unlock Digital Potential?

Learning Lab 2 - Using Coaching and Mentoring to Promote Equality and Diversity
