The Power of Experiential Learning

How do we as coaches use outside activities to support embedded learning

We all know that coaching is about changing behaviours.  Some of that involves changing how people think as well as how they act. However, thinking alone rarely causes real change.  Therefore, we encourage people to put their thoughts into action. 

The beauty of experiential learning is that you can do both.  Just like in sports coaching, we must put techniques into practice, and we can find a way to make coaching sessions into an experience. That does not exclude conversation, because the right questions or comments can sometimes create a deep experience. However, aim to take the conversation into action and practice.

This session will explore the concept of experiential coaching

We will look at:-

·       What is experiential learning?

·       Why it’s important to have fun?

·       What are the benefits?

·       What can the outdoors bring to the party?

·       Ideas for your coaching practice
