Conversations with Authors – Coaching and Supervising Through Bereavement: A Practical Guide to Grief and Loss

For this month's Conversation with Authors we are delighted to be joined by Julia Menaul & Maggie João, the authors of Coaching and Supervising Through Bereavement: A Practical Guide to Grief and Loss.

 

Author Biographies
Julia Menaul has been running her own practice, Spark Coaching and Training, since 2001. Julia is an Accredited Master Executive Coach (Association for Coaching), Member of the British Psychological Society and an ex- Board Director for the Association of Coaching Supervisors. As a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, she was Training and Development Manager within areas as diverse as retail, charity, electronics and the criminal justice system. Supervising coaches since 2006 and supervising other supervisors since 2010, she works with many independent coaches (1 -1 and group), as well as internal coaches in larger organisations. She is a published author and her latest e-book by Book Boon is “Happiness at Work” and the second edition of “Running a Successful Executive Coaching Business.” Her book with Maggie João “Coaching and Supervising Through Bereavement” was be published by Routledge in 2022.Julia is based in the West Midlands, UK.

Maggie João is a Medical Coach helping coachees navigate through their medical processes or their closed ones', as well as bereavement and any other type of loss. Maggie is known to be serene and supportive of her clients, helping them reorganise their thoughts and get new perspectives while bringing new light into the situations they face. Maggie's background in Engineering gives her a pragmatic approach to Coaching and Coaching Supervision and she has spent a decade working for multinational companies within the Process Improvement arena. Having lived and worked in 12 countries she also has a good understanding of cultural differences. Maggie's entrepreneurial spirit found voice in the coaching world, where she has published 14 books about Coaching in several languages. Maggie holds the highest ethical and excellence standards in Coaching, having PCC credential by ICF and the EIA Senior Practitioner by the EMCC and having been the President of International Coach Federation Portugal during 2015-2016. Maggie currently coaches all over the geographies in English, Portuguese and Spanish and she is currently based in Portugal.
